Volgograd drivers were reminded of the timing of the replacement of summer tires for winter
Formally, the winter period and the ban on summer tires begin on December 1, and for ignoring this rule, a fine of 500 rubles is threatened. However, it is not necessary to delay until the last day

Since September 2023, the absence of winter tires in the cold season is officially considered a malfunction in which the operation of the car is prohibited.
Previously, this issue was regulated exclusively by the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union (TR CU 018/2011) and did not entail administrative punishment. Now this violation falls under Part 1 of Article 12.5 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation. The sanction provides for a warning or a fine of 500 rubles.
Despite the fact that the winter period starts on December 1, Roskoshestvo experts strongly advise not to wait for this date or the first frosts.
The main argument for early replacement is safety. In particular, the department recommends changing the tires when the thermometer drops to +4 ... +5 ° C.
This is primarily due to the physical properties of the tires. At low temperatures, the composition of summer tires loses elasticity, rubber “blowns”, which significantly increases the braking distance and reduces traction even in dry weather.
In contrast, winter tires are designed to provide reliable control over the vehicle in cold weather.
Therefore, if it is already cold in the region, it is better not to postpone the replacement of tires on the car.
