Vologda joined the action “Preserve the forest”: planted more than 200 thousand trees

In the Vologda region ended the annual all-Russian action “Preserve the forest”. The region participated for the eighth time. This year, about 200 thousand trees were planted on an area of 98.5 hectares. Greening took place both in settlements and in the forest fund.

The events were attended by members of the regional government, representatives of authorities, clergy, schoolchildren, students, forestry veterans and local residents. The central site was the territory of the Arseny-Komel monastery in the Gryazovets district, where tui, hydrangea, turquoise and variegated timber were planted.

In total, over 360 million trees were planted in the region on an area of 1.7 thousand hectares.
