Voronezh court leaves boat driver in custody for child's death

The measure of restraint in the form of detention was extended until October 26 for 45-year-old Daniil Melnikov. This is reported by Vesti Voronezh. The man passes the defendant in the case of the fatal incident that occurred on July 2.

According to the investigation, the boat he controlled ran over an 11-year-old boy who was swimming in the reservoir. After the collision, the boatmaster left the scene without helping the victim. The child, who received serious injuries, was pulled from the water by nearby vacationers, but it was not possible to save him - the teenager died.

The defendant will remain in pretrial detention until at least the end of October.
