Near Ulyanovo found the focus of quarantine weed

The Rosselkhoznadzor announced a warning to the administration of the Nemansk municipal district because of weedy vegetation contaminated with a poultice. The focus of the quarantine plant was found near the village of Ulyanovo on a plot of ten hectares.

The inspection was carried out on November 2 on state-owned lands. Specialists examined the territory, including with the help of a quadcopter, and found that there were no traces of grass mowing on the site. At the same time, in one of the points, plants were found affected by a pothole - a quarantine weed that parasitizes on other plants.

Part of the territory was treated with herbicides, but these measures were not enough. According to the Rosselkhoznadzor, the identified vegetation indicates improper implementation of measures to localize the hearth and destroy the quarantine plant.

Povilika is included in the list of quarantine facilities, and the territory of the Neman district is located in the established quarantine phytosanitary zone. The approved program prescribes the treatment of the focus with permitted herbicides, as well as mowing or weeding the plants before the formation of seeds. Affected and neighboring plants within a radius of one meter must be destroyed by burning.
