Voting in the elections of deputies of the State Duma of Russia takes place from 18 to 20 September. On Sunday, citizens of this country, permanently living or temporarily staying in Belarus, will be able to vote at polling stations in Minsk and some other Belarusian cities, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency reports with reference to the CEC of Belarus.
To observe the elections in the neighboring country, the Chairman of the CEC of Belarus Igor Karpenko arrived in Moscow. A key feature of the 2026 campaign is the large-scale application of digital technologies. We are talking about remote electronic voting. In parallel with the elections to the State Duma, direct elections of heads of 11 regions and deputies of 39 regional legislative assemblies will be held in Russia.
The CEC of Belarus noted that in parallel with the parliamentary campaign, an important innovation is coming into force in Russia within the framework of a single voting day. Belarusian citizens permanently residing in the neighboring country have the right to participate fully in local elections.
Adult citizens of Russia on September 20 from 8:00 to 20:00 will be able to choose candidates for the State Duma on federal lists at polling stations in Minsk (Novovilenskaya St., 1a), Brest (Pushkinskaya St., 10), Vitebsk (Mayakovsky St., 1), Gomel (50 years BSSR St., 7), Grodno (Gorodnichanskaya St., 40), Mogilev (Leninenska St., 61), Bobruisk (Socialistaya St., 90).
