Republican youth marathon "Dobro.Bel" continues its path in the Grodno region. Young people, for whom helping the elderly has become a common thing in a series of daily worries, will visit several dozen addresses per month. They are ready to perform any possible work, fill the housing of people of golden age with smiles and communication. Schoolchildren from Lida, who already have an idea of the importance of the initiative, were joined by sb.by correspondents.

The hostess of a cozy house on the street Transport with a warm smile invites a school trooper consisting of four volunteers to visit. Zoya Kurbacheva devoted 50 years of her life to pedagogy, and for many years on a well-deserved rest.

I was lucky that the roof wasn’t damaged. In general, the front of my work is impressive. You guys, of course, will not lift the tree, you need special equipment, but the branches need to be collected. This year's apple is huge! I can't make it myself. And the house of work at least add: carpets and blankets should be knocked out, windows before the onset of cold weather to wipe, curtains to refresh. Ready?

- Learned to change light bulbs, hang tulles and curtains, chop wood and do any chores around the house, says volunteer Mark Stenchik. This is a very important mission for me, so my parents raised. I am always ready to spend time with my grandparents. They talk about their youth, their school days, and they always say that life used to be difficult, but now life has changed for the better. I understand that the elderly need support, a lot of them are difficult to do physically, and for me and the guys everything is easy and simple.

Classmates of boys - Yana Pomaho and Maria Prozorova - admit that they really like the opportunity to do good deeds.

- It seems to me that sometimes older people need not only to solve some household issues, but want simple human communication, heart-to-heart conversations, says Yana. Many people want to give us knowledge and experience, they like to be asked for advice. Almost all grandparents talk about the importance of choosing the right profession, ask not to succumb to offers of easy money.

The guys worked together and harmoniously, literally without words distributing duties where necessary, and working together during the collection of apple falls and cleaning dry branches in the garden.

First Secretary of the Lida District Committee of the BRSM NGO Olga Mikhalovich recalled that the marathon of good deeds started from the beginning of the year, and every month is devoted to a certain topic:

- In October, we focused on Lidchina's elderly. For them, not only assistance is organized on request, but also many different events, holidays and concerts. On weekends, we work with children at fairs, help at home. To collect information, there is a direct line where you can leave an application on weekdays. All callers necessarily receive assistance, educational institutions located in the immediate vicinity of the applicant’s residence are involved in this process. Our volunteer teams of schools, colleges and lyceums of the Lida district are 745 young people who are ready to do everything possible for our residents, who for various reasons need support. According to my observations, the more young people volunteer, the more pleasure they not only perform everyday tasks, but also communicate with the elderly. As a rule, people turn to us who have not lost interest in life in retirement, make plans, strive for order and have an active life position.

- The last 20 years before retiring was the headmaster of the school, where my assistants are now studying, said Lidchanka. I am always very happy to meet with the young generation, which gives a charge of vivacity for a long time. After such communication, there is always a second wind, activity returns and the feeling that life goes on. This is a very kind and beautiful initiative. Sincere thanks to the organizers for feeling needed at this level. My heart's happy! We understand that we are not forgotten, the state cares about the people who gave their entire conscious life for the prosperity of our beloved country.
