He noted:

- According to the results of the work of aviation organizations in January-September, the number of passengers transported increased by almost 114% compared to the same period last year. The key indicator characterizing the volume of work of civil aviation for the transportation of passengers is passenger turnover. Compared to last year, the passenger turnover of civil aviation this year reached almost 137%. Freight turnover is 160 percent compared to the level of last year.

Igor Golub said that air navigation services in the airspace of the country were provided to 149 airlines from 34 countries. The volume of air navigation services increased by almost 120 percent compared to last year. More flights were made by airlines of Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt and Uzbekistan. The total number of flights of foreign aircraft in the airspace of Belarus increased by almost 30 percent.

- The Department of Aviation, together with aviation organizations, signed another intergovernmental agreement on air communication with Sri Lanka. Currently, domestic procedures are being completed to prepare for the signing of an air service agreement with the Maldives, the director of the Department of Aviation of the Ministry of Transport and Communications said.

Belavia Airlines operates regular flights from Minsk National Airport, Gomel and Brest airports to 26 airports in 13 countries. Minsk National Airport receives aircraft from ten carriers from Russia, China, Uzbekistan, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Tajikistan.

The composition of Belavia Airlines has been replenished with long-haul aircraft, such as the Airbus A330-200, and medium-haul aircraft Boeing 737-800. Just this year, three more new Boeing 737-800 aircraft were received.

Last year, the first graduation of cadets-pilots of the Belarusian State Aviation Academy took place. Pilots are already part of full-time crews, flying as assistant commanders on some aircraft.

The most important achievement of Belarusian aviation is ensuring the safety of flights, transportation of cargo, baggage and mail. This year, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) conducted two air safety and security audits.

- Belarus successfully withstood them and received high results. The high results of Belarus after the ICAO audits will contribute to the expansion of international air traffic and strengthening the image of the country as a reliable aviation partner, Igor Golub added.
