The exhibition of art works “Belarusian woman: the art of being yourself” will be open at the National Library of Belarus from November 9 to December 18, the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti” with reference to the press service of the institution.
The authors of the exposition are students of the Minsk State College of Craftsmanship and Design named after N. A. Kedyshko. According to the creators, twelve paintings are twelve chapters of one book about a Belarusian woman-master. The artists sought to paint not a ceremonial portrait, but an honest and warm story about the keeper of traditions, whose hands remember the movement of the thread, the stubbornness of the material and the measure of color.
The exposition is assembled as a single statement: students and teachers worked in pairs, as if passing the craft from hand to hand - just as they once adopted it in Belarusian villages. In every work there is a respect for the heroine - for her patience, her daily work and her right to call it her own.
The grand opening of the exhibition will take place on November 11 at 15:00 (Rev. 164). The ceremony will be attended by the authors of paintings, students and teachers of the college, as well as the national family ritual and game collective “Radzina”, whose performing skills will help the audience to more deeply perceive the image of a Belarusian woman created by artists.
