Exhibitions, concerts, meetings of generations: we learned what events the BCJ planned in the Week of Parental Love

Olga Shpilevskaya, Chairman of the Belarusian Women’s Union, Director of the Mir representative office in Belarus, told what events the organization of the union will hold on the eve of the Parental Love Week and during it. Details are reported by sb.by correspondent.

On October 14, Mother’s Day is celebrated in Belarus, on October 21 – Father’s Day, the week between them is called Parental Love Week. It is noteworthy that the Belarusian Union of Women made a proposal to establish two significant days at different times (in 1996 and 2022), and the President supported both initiatives.

- In Parental Love Week, we talk a lot about the importance of family, pay tribute to mothers with many children. But for each of us this is an extra reason to pay attention to their mother and father, be sure to call them, send a postcard, write a letter or just come to visit them for a cup of tea, said Olga Shpilevskaya.

She drew attention to the fact that in the organizations of the Union throughout the country at this time a huge number of bright events are planned. Among them are concerts, honoring those who by their work and active citizenship have made a significant contribution to the development of the country and society, exhibitions of creative works of the fair sex, who, in addition to their main activities, find time for beautiful hobbies.

- I really want our women to be recognized in this, too, so that the maximum number of people see their work, the chairman of the BCJ shared her opinion.

By the way, in fact, today in the shopping center "Capital" launched all events dedicated to the Week of parental love. Here opened a new exhibition of the project of the women’s organization “Her hands”. The works were presented by the photographer, the author of the logo of the Year of the Belarusian woman, the leader of the youth wing of the Volkovysk district organization of the BSJ Evgenia Poborderichna. In Eugenie’s lens are women, couples and families captured in moments of their happiness.

According to tradition, special attention will be paid to children who were left without parental care.

- It is important for us to show these children, who have been let down by their parents, that an adult can make amends and that parental, maternal love cannot be from just one person, it can be all-encompassing. Therefore, we will pay special attention to such children, we will take them to the circus, said Olga Shpilevskaya.

The emphasis will be made on older women - a little later the Republican contest "Supergrandmother", and before that there will be a meeting with the finalists in the House of the BCJ.

- It is important for us that our wise grandmothers teach our young people what a real family is, how to make the family grow stronger every year. It is important that grandmothers pass on wisdom, experience and knowledge, explained the head of the women’s movement.

By the way, this is not the only event with the participation of experienced women - it is expected that meetings of different generations who will share their vision on the issues of family building will be held in many parts of the country.
