Yamal searchers found in the suburbs the remains of 50 soldiers of the Red Army and 10 soldiers' medallions. As reported in the press service of the government of Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, work is underway near the village of Papivino at the site of the battles of the Klinsko-Solnechnogorsk operation in December 1941. Experts are now establishing the names of the dead.
The annual meeting of the search teams of Yamal is held for the first time in the format of an expedition. Work will continue until September 29. They involve 80 Yamal residents and 23 search engines from Klin. Among the northerners are pupils of the Yamolod School and cadets of the VOIN center.
The program of the rally also included master classes of search engine specialists and meetings with combat veterans and participants of the SVO.
In June, 263 Yamal searchers from 29 detachments returned from the Memory Watch 2026 expeditions. During the excavation, they found the remains of 109 Soviet soldiers and two soldiers' medallions. The search engines also helped restore the memory of 707 fighters.
