Young artists of Melitopol met with grattage

The Melitopol Art School hosted a master class dedicated to the technique of grattage (voscography).

Young artists discovered an original way to create images: drawing in this technique is obtained by scratching on a pre-tinted surface.

The class began with a theoretical block: the children were told about the history of the method, as well as the necessary materials and tools. After that, the participants moved to practical work - they independently prepared the basis, applied a layer of wax, covered it with a tone and then scratched their own compositions.

Teacher Svetlana Kuleshova stressed that grattage is a difficult, but extremely fascinating technique: it helps to develop perseverance, accuracy of movements and graphic skills. According to the teacher, the students showed sincere interest and diligence, thanks to which the final work was especially successful.

As a result, each child created his own graphic composition, and all the resulting black and white works looked really spectacular.
