The lawyer told the Kaluga women how to protect themselves from stalkers
Hundreds of women around the world complain of harassment by obsessive suitors

Hundreds of women around the world complain of harassment by obsessive boyfriends. They manifest themselves differently. This can be surveillance and “accidental” meetings at home, constant messages and calls, hacking accounts in social networks and “friendship” with relatives and colleagues of the victim.
In many countries, stalking is a crime. In Russia, the law on compulsive persecution was not adopted, although its draft was introduced. It may be adopted early next year.
However, Daria Yurkova, a member of the Kaluga regional branch of the Association of Lawyers of Russia, emphasizes that it is still possible to bring the stalker to justice.
“Given the absence of a direct law regulating this offense, in case of threats, collection, storage and dissemination of information, which is a secret of private and family life, the offender can be prosecuted,” the expert notes.
According to her, almost every action of the stalker can be translated into a legal plane.
“In fact, on threats, for example, murder, a person can be attracted under Article 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, but one should keep in mind the seriousness of intentions, specifically actions, as a result of which the victim could perceive the threat as real,” the lawyer adds.
However, even without threats, you can complain about the obsessive stalker:
In case of illegal collection of information about private life, the violator may be brought to criminal responsibility under Article 137 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Responsibility begins at the age of 16.”.
To protect himself, the expert urges to carefully collect evidence of persecution and not hesitate to contact the police. You can attach photos, correspondence, audio and video messages to the application.
As MK in Kaluga reported earlier, agreeing to a date with a stranger, already at the first meeting you can understand that the pursuer is sitting in front of you.
The main indicator is awareness of your personal life. If the person you see for the first time knows the exact address of your residence or place of work, you need to stop the meeting.
Another alarming symptom is the incessant calls, frequent messages and the search for any reasons for another personal meeting, the president of the Moscow Law Corporation Vyacheslav Pechnikov told Gazeta.ru.
