Yuri Burlachko congratulated Kubans on the anniversary of the liberation of the region

Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory Yuri Burlachko congratulated the residents of the region on the 83rd anniversary of the liberation of the Kuban from the Nazi invaders. October 9, 1943 was the day of the complete liberation of the region and the end of the battle for the Caucasus.

According to him, this event "to a large extent determined the further course of the Great Patriotic War" and became "a significant contribution to the future Victory of the Soviet people over fascism.".

Burlachko also recalled that the struggle for the Kuban was “not for life, but for death”, and by occupying the territory, the enemy hoped to deprive the country of food, fossil resources and industrial potential, as well as quickly seize the entire Caucasus and defeat Soviet troops in the southern direction.

He added that the inhabitants of the Krasnodar Territory suffered severe trials, and the land of the region became the place of fierce battles. Among the examples, he called air battles in the sky over the Kuban, the breakthrough of the defense of the fortified fascist bridgehead "Blue Line", the exploits of the defenders of the "Small Land" and Pashkovskaya crossing, the Kushchev horse attack, the women's flight detachment "Night Witches", as well as the courage of the employees of the cities-hospitals of Sochi and Gelendzhik and the heroism of guerrillas.

“I am sure that today these examples of true patriotism and love for the Fatherland remain a moral guide for all of us, for future generations, for the current defenders of the Motherland, who, like their grandfathers and great-grandfathers, are struggling with manifestations of Ukrainian neo-fascism,” he concluded.

The Chairman of the ZSK congratulated the residents of the region on the anniversary of the liberation of the Kuban, wished veterans health and long years of life, and all Kubans – peaceful skies and prosperity.
