Southern Urals entered the top three regions of the country in terms of pregnancy after IVF

The Chelyabinsk region ranked third in Russia in the number of pregnancies that occurred after IVF in 2025. Above were only Moscow and St. Petersburg, reported in the Ministry of health of the Russian Federation.

During the year, 3294 IVF cycles and embryo cryotransfers were carried out in the region at the expense of the MHI and the regional budget. According to the regional Ministry of Health, 849 children were born through the procedure in 2025. Compared to 2023, the number of procedures increased by 42%.

One of the sites where infertility is treated remains the regional perinatal center. The whole cycle is carried out here - from examination and preparation of patients to the embryological stage and embryo transfer.

The program is available free of charge under the MHI policy and at the expense of the regional budget. From 2026, preimplantation genetic testing of embryos for married couples – carriers of hereditary and chromosomal diseases.

Doctors recommend seeking examination if pregnancy does not occur within a year of regular sexual activity without contraception. For women over 35, this period is reduced to six months.
