For eight months, every tenth accident occurred due to a drunk driver in the Murmansk region. According to the Ministry of information policy of the region, from January to August there were 300 accidents, where 27 people died.
Another cause of accidents is exit to the oncoming lane, as well as non-compliance with traffic rules. At a meeting of the Commission on road safety, the Governor of the Murmansk region Andrey Chibis told how during his trip around the region he saw a driver who turned around through the oncoming lane on a tinted car. After his arrest, he had no documents or rights. On the basis of such events, the head of the region asked to intensify the raids to increase the number of detained northerners organizing races without rights.
It is noted that 120,000 children and young people in educational institutions are told about the rules of traffic rules in order to learn the skills of safe behavior on the road.
Earlier, “MK in Murmansk” said that in Monchegorsk on Moroshkova street shot down crossing the road 16-year-old girl.
