Over the past week in the Kostroma region increased the number of victims of telephone fraudsters

Since the beginning of last year, 368 crimes committed using information and telecommunication technologies have been registered in the Kostroma region. The total amount of damage was more than 354 million rubles.

Over the past week (from October 3 to October 10), 5 new episodes were registered. The damage increased by 3 million rubles.

80% of the victims are employees of various organizations, 20% are students.

35-year-old resident of Manturovo lost 1.9 million rubles, trying to buy a car through an online ad.

We urge citizens to be vigilant. Scammers are constantly changing communication scenarios (blocking accounts, repairing intercoms, renting housing). Do not provide codes from SMS and card data.
