64 residents of the Astrakhan region will compete for the Knowledge Prize
The Russian society “Knowledge” summed up the results of the application campaign for the sixth season of Knowledge. Prizes. Experts will consider 14 thousand applications from all regions of the country.
According to the press service of the Governor of the Astrakhan region, the region ranks fifth in the Southern Federal District and 66th among the subjects of the Russian Federation. Most often, applications were submitted in the nominations “For educational activities in an educational organization”, “For contribution to education in the field of Education and Mentoring” and “For contribution to preserving the memory of the exploits of the defenders of the Fatherland”.
In the nomination "For contribution to education in the field of "History" the region presents the project "Astrakhan Film Lecture". On the basis of the Illusion cinema and in universities, film screenings are accompanied by lectures by historians and lawyers with open discussions. The cycle of 2026 was timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the end of the Nuremberg trials. In 2025, more than 10 thousand people became participants, in 2026 - about 15 thousand.
In the nomination “Best Enlightenment Book” the publication “Buddhist tradition of the Kalmyks in the XIX – early XX centuries: history in photography” by the authors Kurapov and Stepanov is declared. The book for the first time introduced photo postcards from the private collection of the Astrakhan local historian, expanding the understanding of the Buddhist tradition of the region.
The expert council will form a shortlist in 17 nominations. Applicants will undergo online public speaking training to prepare for face-to-face defense. The winners will be announced in 2027.
