Most St. Petersburgers still prefer traditional names. The most popular among girls were Anna, Sofia, Maria, Eva and Vasilisa. The boys in the leaders confidently hold Mikhail, Alexander, Lev, Roman and Ivan.
However, some parents decided to stand out. In the list of the rarest female names of this year were Justinia, Clara, Severina, Feodosia and Zabava. Among the rare male names, the employees of the registry office identified Spartacus, Svetoslav, Joseph, Aurelius and Lawrence.
