Abandoned shopping center " Sunflower" in Novosibirsk on Saturday caught fire twice

Abandoned shopping center "Sunflower", located in Novosibirsk, again attracted public attention - within one day in the building recorded two cases of fire.

Information about the fires was distributed by the community “Anonymous Novosibirsk”. The first message was published at 14:23. Then, at 19:27, eyewitnesses reported that the flames had broken out for the second time this day.

It is worth recalling that the unfinished building of the shopping center "Sunflower" at the address Vatutin Street, 31, remains abandoned for many years. The area of construction is approximately 33 thousand square meters. The construction of the facility began in 2005, but it was not possible to complete the construction and put the complex into operation.

After the developer went bankrupt, and the litigation ended, the property was sent for sale through open auction. The first auction, scheduled for September 2026, did not take place - there were no buyers for the building. The administration of Novosibirsk noted that the repeated bidding procedure was scheduled for November.
