Don State Agrarian University and FGBI “Directorate of Protected Areas of Kherson Region” signed a cooperation agreement. The ceremony took place in videoconference format.
“This is not just a document – this is a real step towards making education closer to practice, and science more useful for protected areas,” said Dmitry Meshcheryakov, director of the Ascania-Nova Biosphere Reserve.
The agreement provides for joint work in several areas. The parties will develop educational and scientific projects in the field of nature protection and agricultural technologies. Special attention will be paid to training and professional development of specialists, so that the protected areas have strong and modern teams.
In addition, students will have the opportunity to undergo training and production practices in specially protected natural areas. This will allow them not only to study the theory, but also to see the processes from the inside, contributing during their studies.
For the university, the partnership provides an opportunity to strengthen the practical orientation of the programs. For the management of protected areas - access to fresh ideas, research and young specialists who are ready to develop in the environmental field.
Such cooperation is a clear example of how science, education and conservation can go hand in hand.
