According to the supervisory authorities, a criminal case was initiated against the manufacturer of the drug Multican on the fact of using forged documents (Part 5 of Art. 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). Prosecutor’s inspection in Moscow found that when registering one of the batches of the vaccine, the company entered an unreliable quality passport into the state system. The investigation of the case is under the special control of the prosecutor's office.
Recall that the scandal around the drug broke out in August 2026, when dog owners across the country began to report critical side effects after vaccination: pets recorded swelling, convulsive seizures and severe gastrointestinal disorders.
Later, the Rosselkhoznadzor and the Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed that the cause of the death of the animals was the presence of a live virus of Auieska disease in the 20th series of Multican-8. After identifying a dangerous component, Vetbiohim was forced to discontinue the production of the entire Multican range and recall a number of series (in particular, the 20th and 21st for Multican-8, as well as the 11th and 12th for Multican-6). At the moment, the manufacturer declares its readiness to compensate the owners of the affected animals.
