The thirst for extra meters destroyed the architectural monument in Vladimir

The Leninsky District Court put an end to a resonant criminal case that resulted in Vladimir’s loss of an object of cultural heritage. The 58-year-old contractor was sent to a general regime colony for two and a half years for the partial collapse of the historic house No. 19 on Letne-Perezinskaya Street.
In October last year, the building of the XIX century, which had the status of a monument of regional importance, turned into ruins. The owner turned to the convict only for cosmetic repairs and removal of garbage from the basement. However, the builders arbitrarily decided to go below the sole of the foundation in order to increase the height of the cap.
Violation of basic safety rules led to unacceptable precipitation of load-bearing structures. On the night of October 23, the house gave a critical roll. The monument was declared uninhabitable, and the damage exceeded 5.8 million rubles.
Despite the fact that the foreman did not admit guilt, the state prosecution proved his direct leadership of illegal earthworks. The verdict has not yet come into force, but the point of no return for the ancient city estate has already been passed.
