“It is impossible to live abroad, ready to be punished.” Prosecutor General about the appeals of Belarusians who went abroad
The Commission for the consideration of appeals of Belarusian citizens abroad on the commission of offenses continues its work, many want to return to Belarus.

The Commission for the Consideration of Appeals of Belarusian Citizens Abroad on the Commission of Offences is continuing its work, and many people want to return to their homeland. This was stated today, October 7, the Prosecutor General of Belarus Dmitry Gora, answering questions during a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic, at which parliamentarians heard information from the Prosecutor General on the results of their activities.

Dmitry Gora noted that the Commission is still in force, considered a significant number of appeals:
- Now there are several appeals that we are checking. It is impossible to live abroad, ready to come, ask for forgiveness, comply with the law. A lot of people want to come back. This includes those who know that criminal proceedings are being conducted against them. They come back, ready to be punished.

The Commission has repeatedly decided to cancel this measure in case of voluntary return to the territory of Belarus and appeal to law enforcement agencies. If we give that word, we keep it. I must say that punishment in such cases, when a person really repented, as a rule, is not associated with deprivation of liberty, said Dmitry Gora. The investigation of the genocide of the population of the BSSR during the Great Patriotic War continues – Gora
