Resident of Mari El wanted to save the car from confiscation, but lost 2.3 million rubles

Earlier, the 41-year-old man got behind the wheel after drinking about 0.5 liters of cognac. He decided to ride around the city, but the trip ended in an accident.

The man pleaded guilty in court. It should be noted that earlier he was already brought to administrative responsibility for drunk driving, because the vehicle was subject to confiscation. And even the advance sale of the car did not help to avoid punishment.

The court conducted an examination of the car and estimated the foreign car at 2.3 million rubles. But since the man now has no car, the Agency decided to collect from the man this amount.

The court also fined him 200,000 rubles. For another 2 years 6 months, the man is deprived of the right to drive vehicles, according to the Prosecutor’s Office of Mari El.
