A resident of the Mordovian district stored more kilograms of marijuana

Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Mordovsky” in the course of operational-search measures on September 16 stopped the fact of illegal drug trafficking. In the house of a 39-year-old resident of the district, police found and seized marijuana with a total weight of 1 kg 209 g. According to the current legislation, this volume refers to a large size.

It was established that at the beginning of September 2026, the man, having the intention to purchase and store drugs without the purpose of marketing, independently picked cannabis plants, from which he subsequently made a drug. The resulting substance he stored in his home for personal consumption.

During the inspection, it was also revealed that the defendant had previously been brought to criminal responsibility for similar crimes. This circumstance can be taken into account in the qualification of the act and the imposition of punishment.

According to the results of the inspection, a criminal case was initiated against a man for illegal acquisition, storage without the purpose of selling narcotic drugs on a large scale. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to ten years with or without a fine.

Currently, the criminal case is carried out the necessary investigative and procedural actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime committed.
