A resident of Sampur district attacked his father-in-law with a dagger and almost burned down the house

The Sampur district court has convicted a man who in the summer of 2025 staged a series of crimes based on family conflicts.

As the investigation established, in July last year the defendant quarreled with the father of his wife. During the conflict, he grabbed a dagger and struck the man at least five blows to the chest, neck, shoulder and face. The victim suffered serious harm to his health, as well as minor injuries.

Later, in a quarrel with his wife, the man struck her, causing slight harm to health. After that, he decided to destroy the property: he set fire to documents for the house and land, as well as curtains in the hall and corridor. However, it was not possible to bring the plan to the end - the employees of the fire department localized the fire in time.

The court found the defendant guilty under three articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: intentional infliction of serious harm to health, intentional infliction of light harm to health and attempted intentional destruction of someone else's property.

For a set of crimes, he was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment with serving in a general regime correctional colony. The sentence has not yet entered into force.
