According to the investigation, on the night of March 16, 2026 in an apartment on the street. Kovalenko man quarreled with his wife. To kill her, he used a charging wire to strangle the woman. However, she managed to escape and lock herself in the bathroom. Then the accused broke the lock and inflicted on his wife at least eleven stab wounds. Confident that the victim would die, he left. The victim managed to call an ambulance and doctors saved her life.
The court, based on the position of the prosecutor's office, appointed the guilty 6 years and 6 months in a strict regime colony. In addition, a compulsory measure is appointed - outpatient observation and treatment by a psychiatrist at the place of detention.
