At night, passing along the Svislochi embankment near the street. Lugovoi, the accused found fishing gear, near which no one was. He sat down on a bench nearby and waited a while, but the fisherman never came. Then the defendant decided to steal someone else’s property: a fabric backpack, rods with components and a case for them, a portable charger, feeder feeders, three headdresses with a net, a sweater, towels, a tourist seat and so on.
Subsequently, he began to sell the stolen through a well-known trading platform on the Internet. One of the buyers was a police officer who brought the enterprising man to clean water. A criminal case was opened against the citizen.
It turned out that the victim killed the fish and briefly went to the car to warm up. When he returned, he found his clothes missing. Subsequently, the Minsk citizen filed a complaint with the police, assessing the damage caused to him at 1,714.50 BYN.
In court, the defendant fully admitted guilt, repented of what he had done.
- The accused has a higher education, he is single, works as a roofer in a private company, has previously been brought to criminal responsibility for similar crimes, commented the prosecutor of the Minsk Prosecutor’s Office for Supervision of Compliance with the Law of Court Decisions in Criminal Cases Kristina Kondratenkova. The court found him guilty of secret theft of property (theft), committed repeatedly, and on the basis of Part 2 of Art. 205 of the Criminal Code imposed a punishment in the form of correctional labor for a period of 1 year with the deduction of 20% from earnings at the main place of work, but at least one base monthly. In addition, the accused must compensate the victim for the property damage caused by the crime in the amount of 597 BYN, as well as pay 200 BYN for material compensation for moral damage.
The sentence has entered into force.
