In the Ulyanovsk region, a 48-year-old resident of the village of Syuksyum Sergey Bogdashkin was sentenced to four years in a strict regime colony for illegal acquisition and possession of drugs on a large scale. The man collected wild cannabis on the outskirts of the village and kept it at home.
As established by the court, in the autumn of 2025, an unemployed villager discovered thickets of wild cannabis and collected plants. He transferred the drug to his place of residence, where he continued to illegally store it.
On October 31, 2025, during special events, the man was detained by law enforcement officers. A criminal case was subsequently opened against him.
It turned out that earlier Sergey Bogdashkin was already brought to criminal responsibility for robbery. This time he was charged under part 2 of article 228 of the criminal code of the Russian Federation, which provides punishment for the illegal acquisition and possession of drugs on a large scale.
In the court session, the state prosecution was supported by the deputy Inzensky interdistrict prosecutor. The court found the man guilty and sentenced him to four years in prison while serving his sentence in a high-security correctional colony.
