Residents of Komi will be punished for insulting single mothers

Residents of Komi warned, then in the state Duma discussed the protection of single mothers. Deputies proposed to add to the Criminal Code responsibility for humiliation on the basis of marital status. Insults against women with children can become punishable.

In addition, the possibility of maintaining alimony under state control is being discussed. If the parent does not pay, the child must receive a guaranteed amount, and the debt is then recovered from the defaulter.

Protections for single mothers may be strengthened, but penalties and sentences have yet to be approved.
