Sarov residents warned about the growth of the population of bears

Sarov residents were warned about the growth of the bear population. This is reported by the city administration department.

In Sarov and the vicinity of bears became more, and their habitats expanded to the vicinity of Gadov Lake, Philippovsky lakes, the area near the water intake and the source area of Sarovka from Pryatyazhka. Residents are urged to avoid these places.

The department clarifies the routes of bears and takes measures to remove from the city those individuals whose paths approach crowded places. For this purpose, specialists of the FGBI “Reserve Mordovia” and the Committee for the Protection, Use and Reproduction of the Animal World of the Nizhny Novgorod Region were involved.

When meeting a bear, it is advised not to turn your back on it and move slowly. You can not approach the cubs - there may be a bear nearby. You can scare the animal away by ringing metal objects, shouting, clapping or hitting a stick on a tree. Shooting a bear is not worth it: a wounded animal can be even more dangerous. Also, do not look at the beast closely - for him this is a sign of an impending attack.
