Residents of the Voronezh region warned about a new scheme of fraud with loans
Attackers have come up with a way to deceive Russians who are looking for an opportunity to issue a loan on favorable terms

Attackers have come up with a way to deceive Russians who are looking for an opportunity to issue a loan on favorable terms. Under the guise of assistance with the selection of a loan, they offer to install a fake banking program on a smartphone. The new scheme was reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
According to the agency, a potential victim can see an ad in the phone’s browser promising to pick up a loan even with a damaged credit history. Switching to the placed link starts the download of the application, which externally can resemble the program of this bank.
Next, the user is asked to follow the instructions on the screen, enter bank card details and fill out a questionnaire. However, instead of applying for a loan, a person actually gives scammers remote access to their device.
Having gained control of the phone, scammers can issue in the name of the owner of the microloan, and then transfer the money received to accounts under their control. Thus, an attempt to find a loan offer can result in financial losses and the emergence of debts.
The interior Ministry urged not to download programs from unknown sources and not to follow the instructions of strangers. If a suspicious call is received, the conversation should be stopped, and then contact the bank on the official hotline number. You can contact the police if necessary.
