Residents of Nadvoits stand for the preservation of railway communication

The initiative group from the village of Nadvoitsy of the Republic of Karelia began collecting signatures in support of extending the route of the electric train connecting Segezha and Nadvoitsy until 2027. One of the key requirements is the resumption of day flights.

Concern of the residents of Karelia about the possible termination of the movement of the train between Nadvoitsy and Segezha was voiced by Elizaveta Churina. Addressing the Ministry of Transport of the Republic, she stressed the social consequences of such a decision.

As Elizaveta Churina wrote in her appeal, my daughter, who has a third disability group, uses the train for daily commutes to work. The cancellation of this message will lead to the loss of her workplace, since the cost of travel by bus is 160 rubles one way, which per month will require about 5000 rubles with her salary of 20,000 rubles. This situation affects a significant number of citizens, including pensioners, students and workers. Giving up the train will actually deprive many people of the opportunity to lead a full life. I intend to inform about the current problem within the framework of a direct line with the President of Russia, scheduled for December 2026.

Representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Karelia assured that they will provide an official response to this issue in the near future.
