Residents of Taganrog will lose four usual routes through the railway

In Taganrog, the scheme of pedestrian traffic near the railway station will change. Four passages through the tracks from Initiative Street will be closed after the installation of a protective fence.

On October 11, the head of the city Svetlana Kambulova told about the upcoming changes. According to her, the work at the Taganrog-Passenger station is planned to be completed by the end of 2026.

The closure of the passages is due to security requirements. Restrictions should exclude free access of people to the railway tracks.

After installing the fence, pedestrians will have to use two crossings opposite the station building. One of them is located on the surface, the second is an underground tunnel.

The news raised questions from local residents, especially those with limited mobility, for whom changing routes can create additional inconveniences. The head of Taganrog said that the issue of accessibility of transitions will continue to be discussed.
