Residents of the Volgograd region will see a beautiful space show in October
Volgograd residents will be able to see up to 20 shooting stars per hour: the peak of the main meteor shower of October

The main event will be the peak of the Orionid meteor shower, which will occur on the night of October 21-22.
According to the astronomical portal Starwalk.space, orionids are considered one of the most spectacular streams of the year. Meteors fly very fast and often leave behind bright glowing footprints that hang in the sky for a few seconds. Peak activity will give observers up to 20 “shooting stars” per hour. The stream itself will be active until November 7.
Astronomers warn that the observation may interfere with the growing moon. To see the maximum, it is best to go outside the city away from city lights and look at the sky in the pre-dawn hours.
October will also welcome other meteor showers. The Southern Taurids will be visible on October 13, and the Epsilon Geminids on October 18. On October 24, the peak of Leo Minorid will come, and throughout the month with great luck you can catch rare October Camelopardalids.
For comfortable observation of any of the streams, it is important to let your eyes get used to the darkness and choose an open area away from street lights.
