38-year-old resident of Kazan turned to the osteopath with complaints of headaches and discomfort in the neck

38-year-old resident of Kazan turned to an osteopath with complaints of headaches and discomfort in the neck. Three days after the session, she felt weakness in her right arm and leg. The husband immediately called an ambulance, and the woman was taken to the Republican Clinical Hospital of Tatarstan. There, doctors diagnosed the patient with a stratification of both internal carotid arteries - a dangerous condition in which blood flow through one of the vessels was completely blocked by a thrombosed artery.
In an emergency order, the department of X-ray surgical methods of diagnosis and treatment No. 1 Andrei Teregulov and X-ray surgeon Vladimir Fadeev performed an operation to restore blood supply to the brain. In both carotid arteries were installed stents, which allowed to resume normal blood flow. The woman regained consciousness, but the consequences of the stroke were severe: she is in a state of total aphasia, in which the ability to speak and understand speech is simultaneously impaired. Now the patient continues to be closely monitored by specialists.
