During the Great Patriotic War, as a schoolgirl, she helped in the hospital to care for the wounded, build camouflage tunnels from logs and clean the snow from the railway station to the airfield.
After school, Valentina Alexandrovna entered the Moscow Institute named after G.V. Plekhanov, where she graduated only a year, since after the death of her father she had to help her mother.
In Ryazhsk, the woman met her future husband, a military pilot, with whom they married on January 7, 1945. In 1946, the wife was transferred to Smolensk in the Belarusian Military District. The Sergeevs returned to Ryazhsk in 1956. There Valentina Alexandrovna got a job at a cannery, and then worked for 25 years in a confectionery shop.
Now Sergeeva has three children, as well as five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
