The man is accused of murder for hooligan motives and death threats. According to investigators, in late December 2001 – early January 2002 he was drunk in the general corridor of the dormitory in Kandalaksha. Walking past one of the rooms, he just decided to knock on the door. When the door was opened by an unknown man, the accused struck him at least 22 punches, legs and even a glass bottle on the head and body. From his injuries, the victim died on the spot.
For a long time the crime remained unsolved. Investigators have now gathered evidence of who is to blame.
In addition, in May 2026, the accused was also drunk, quarreled with his ex-wife in his apartment. He beat the woman and then took a kitchen knife and threatened her with murder. In confirmation of the threats, he stabbed the bathroom door where she was hiding.
The criminal case went to court. Murder for hooligan motives is punishable up to life imprisonment. For the threat of murder threatens up to two years in prison.
