From September 1, 2026, there is a new procedure for surveying small vessels, told in the Tver inspection department of GIMS EMERCOM of Russia in the Tver region.
The procedure replaces previously existing disparate rules for inspection of ships by inspectors of GIMS EMERCOM of Russia. The procedures are now tied to a digital register of small ships. In addition, an algorithm for checking the vessel for compliance with safety requirements is installed.
A complete transition to electronic document management was made. The results of the inspection will be issued with a certificate of examination of a new sample, which is optimized for automatic entry into information systems. Also in the new form, duplicate graphs are excluded.
The grounds for carrying out the survey are the following conditions:
During the survey, the technical condition of the vessel, its staffing with equipment and rescue equipment are assessed. The difficulty category of the navigation area is also assigned (or confirmed). According to the results of the survey, a conclusion is given: the vessel is either recognized as suitable for safe navigation, or is not allowed for use. In the latter case, the reasons for non-admission are indicated.
The Tver inspection department specified that the procedure for the survey applies only to ships subject to state registration in the register of small ships.
