Winter will be the worst in 200 years. Forecasters said what to prepare for

Instead of the usual crackling frosts, the coming winter (December 2026 – February 2027) prepares Russians for a much more insidious test. Climatologists, after analyzing fresh predictive models, sound the alarm: the key threat will be unprecedented temperature instability. Persistent colds linger, but when they come, each new atmospheric front will be more palpable than the previous one.

Peak weather chaos is expected in January. Meteorologists describe the scenario of a “roller coaster”: during the day the air can warm up to plus marks with wet snow, and after a few hours the thermometer will collapse by 20-25 degrees. This sharp contrast ensures the formation of a stable ice crust, which will become a nightmare for pedestrians and drivers, especially in the western regions of the country.

The precipitation isn't all smooth either. A serious geographical imbalance is predicted: some territories risk meeting spring with almost no snow, while others will be covered by powerful cyclones that can dump the monthly moisture rate in just a couple of weeks. This will put a huge burden on utilities and rescue services.

How do you defend yourself?

Motorists: You need to change your shoes now. The roadway will transform from wet asphalt into an ice rink with lightning speed.

Meteorsensitive people: cardiologists insist on strict control of blood pressure. Sharp jumps in the background temperature is a direct and dangerous blow to the vessels.

• All citizens: get shoes with a non-slip sole, be extremely careful on the street and treat with understanding the possible failures in the housing and communal services.
