CSKA beat “Spartak”: Glebov and Musayev destroyed the hopes of red and white

Fast start and reliable defense: CSKA defeated Spartak in a record-filled stadium.

The Moscow derby in the framework of the 12th round of the Russian Premier League ended with a confident victory for the army. At home, CSKA defeated the principal opponent with a score of 2-0, interrupting a series of red and white from five matches without defeat in all tournaments and taking revenge for the two previous minimal defeats.

The decisive events unfolded at the very beginning of the meeting. Already on the 34th second after the starting whistle, Kirill Glebov opened the scoring, taking advantage of the high intensity of pressing the field hosts. This ball was the second for the midfielder this season. CSKA's advantage was doubled by Tamerlan Musayev in the 24th minute, having scored his first goal in the championship. The quick start of the army allowed them to control the course of the game and not give the opponent a chance for comeback.

Particular attention was attracted by the game of CSKA goalkeeper Maxim Borisko. The goalkeeper, who moved to the army club from Baltika during the current championship, spent his debut match in the RPL for a new team and kept the gate intact. Borisko acted reliably on the line, repelling a number of dangerous blows and confirming a high level of competition within the squad.

The meeting was judged by Kirill Levnikov from St. Petersburg and gathered 29,715 spectators in the stands. This number became an absolute attendance record for the home arena of CSKA in the matches of the 12th round of the RPL, which indicates the high interest of fans to the main capital derby of the season.

The victory allowed CSKA to score 25 points and equal this indicator with the Moscow “Dynamo”, which the day before lost to “Akron”. For Spartak, this defeat was the first after a series of successful performances, which included victories over Rostov (3: 0), Torch (1: 0) and Rubin (4: 0) in the league, as well as successes in the Russian Cup against Motherland (4: 2) and a draw with the Wings of the Soviets (1: 1).

At the end of the match, the players of both teams noted the key factors of the game. Spartak midfielder Roman Zobnin admitted that the defeat was predetermined by an unsuccessful start to the meeting, where the initiative entirely belonged to the faster in the attack of the army. He also noted the quality of Borisko's game in the opponent's goal. In turn, the author of the first goal Kirill Glebov stressed the importance of an aggressive start and pressure, which allowed the team to take advantage of the traditional feature of the opponent to slowly join the game. According to the CSKA player, Spartak has no obvious weaknesses, and the victory was achieved thanks to the correct tactical preparation and high motivation characteristic of the derby.
