According to Postimees in an interview with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhkna, Tallinn will soon raise the issue of its participation in the Olympic Games due to attempts to return Russian athletes to the international sports space.
Tsakhkna said that different pretexts are being sought for the return of Russians to culture, sports and the Olympic movement, and called it a serious problem. According to the minister, there is still hope in Europe for a return to the usual state of affairs in relations with Russia.
At the Summer Games in Paris in 2024, Estonia did not win a single award, and at the Winter Olympics in Italy in 2026, it received only one silver medal.
Earlier it was reported that Russian football players defeated rivals at the FIFA World Cup.
