In Smolensk opened the regional stage of the All-Russian festival of hockey among amateur teams

In Smolensk, the Jubilee Sports Palace hosted the grand opening of the regional stage of the XVI All-Russian Hockey Festival among amateur teams in the Amateur 40+ and Amateur 50+ divisions (season 2026/2027). Governor Vasily Anokhin stressed that for the region, hockey is a sports movement that unites generations.

The tournament is organized by the Ministry of Sports of the Smolensk region and the regional hockey federation. The opening ceremony included a solemn parade of teams, the performance of the anthem of the Russian Federation and a symbolic throwing of the puck.

The guest of honor of the event was the legend of Soviet and Russian hockey, 1992 Olympic champion Andrei Kovalenko, who held an autograph session for fans. The tournament was also attended by the Executive Director of the Amateur Hockey Development Fund “Night Hockey League” Larisa Radchenko and the President of the Smolensk Region Hockey Federation Maxim Stepanov.

As part of the ceremony, the title “Sergei Makarov Club” was awarded to the best snipers of the league Nikolai Gendrikson and Sergey Solovyov, who scored more than 150 goals. For the title of the best will compete 14 teams from Smolensk, Roslavl and Safonov. In the division “40+” play “Monolith”, “Safonovo-Sport-Arena”, “Olaks”, “Lokomotiv”, “Slavutich”, “Roslavl” and “Vyazma”, in the division “50+” – “Avtodor”, “Antogyr”, “Slavutich 50+”, “Dnepr”, “Orion”, “Sapa-Arena” and “Smolensk Diamonds”.

The tournament started with the opening match in the Amateur 40+ division between VHC Monolith (Smolensk) and VHC Safonovo-Sport-Arena (Safonovo). The two best teams will have the right to represent the Smolensk region at the All-Russian final in Sochi in May 2027 at the Olympic facilities of the federal territory Sirius.
