“Corporation of Robotics” (part of AFK “System”) bought 51% in the company “Photomechanics” – manufacturer of solutions for automation of warehouses, told “Kommersant” in the “Corporation of Robotics”. The amount of the transaction in the company refused to disclose.
The perimeter of the transaction included several companies of the Photomechanics group of companies, which form a single production and R&D circuit. Robotics Corporation, among other things, invests in the development of the design direction of Photomechanics: we are talking about new models of conveyor, sorting and robotic equipment and the development of its own software for managing it. The company gets access to the engineering and production competencies of the entire group, says the Robotics Corporation.
The Robotics Corporation says the Photomechanics product line includes conveyor and sorting systems, flexible automation systems, warehouse robots and shuttle systems, as well as its own hardware management software. Some solutions are included in the register of Russian industrial products.
Warehouse and logistics robotics are the largest segment of the robot market, accounting for about half of global supply, the corporation said. “In Russia, the direction is growing faster than others. Demand is shifting towards Russian solutions - the difficulties with the supply and maintenance of foreign equipment and localization requirements for obtaining state support are affected, the corporation believes.
