Swedish actor Bill Skarsgard has joined the cast of Hideo Kojima's new game Physint. He will play the main role in the game. Earlier, Kojima announced the participation in the project of actress and model Charlie Fraser, star of “Trains to Busan” Ma Don Soka and Japanese actress Minami Hamabe.
Skarsgård is 36. He is best known for his role as the clown Pennywise in the horror films It, It 2 and the TV series It: Welcome to Derry.
We are both longtime fans of each other’s work, and we decided to embark on this new adventure together. The costume fittings, scans and camera tests we did with Bill and Charlie earlier this year gave me tremendous confidence in the direction of the project, said Hideo Kojima during Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026.
Kojima's previous two games, Death Stranding and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, were published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and originally released on PlayStation consoles. The main role in both games was played by the star of “The Walking Dead” Norman Reedus.
It was assumed that the release of Physint will also be Sony. But on September 10, the company announced the termination of cooperation with Kojima. According to the game designer, Sony left the project in the summer. No official reasons have been reported. Bloomberg sources claim that the case is due to sales of the previous two games that did not meet Sony’s expectations.
Now Physint is being developed under a direct competitor to PlayStation - Xbox. No details about the plot and gameplay of the game yet. Kojima calls Physint “spy action.” Also in development is another of his game - horror OD, the main role in which will play a colleague of Skarsgård in the films "It" Sofia Lillis.
