Microsoft plans to invest $10 billion in the Gulf by 2030. This was reported in an interview with Reuters, the President of the Corporation Brad Smith.
Microsoft plans to invest this money, in particular, in the development of cloud technologies and artificial intelligence in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait, and will pay special attention to digital sustainability. With the US and Israel’s ongoing war on Iran, the company is making digital resilience part of its strategy in the region.
Smith’s $10 billion announcement includes $7.9 billion in investments in the UAE, which the company announced last year, and an additional $2 billion. “We are keeping all the investments we planned to make before the conflict, and are actually increasing them,” he said. In which projects these investments will be directed, it is not reported.
