ChatGPT developer OpenAI fired three developers for sharing sensitive information with an artificial intelligence (AI) security organization. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing sources. OpenAI confirmed the dismissals and stated that the employees acted in circumvention of the company's established procedures.
According to WSJ sources, OpenAI fired Jasmine Wang, Tomek Korbak and Mikita Balesni. The newspaper writes that Mr. Korbak was responsible for interaction with the organizations Redwood Research and METR, which investigated hacking by AI.
Recently, cases of AI agents getting out of control and hacking other companies during testing have become more frequent. At the end of July, the OpenAI neural network hacked the Modal and Hugging Face platforms. After that, the company introduced new rules to combat hacker attacks by AI.
