The former top manager of VimpelCom headed SberMobile
Maxim Zaikov, former vice president for corporate business of VimpelCom, was appointed general director of SberMobile, the company told Kommersant. “One of the key tasks of the new CEO will be the formation of the strategy of SberMobile for the next three years – the focus will be on new opportunities for growth in the B2C and B2B segments,” the press service of the operator said.

Before joining SberMobile, Maxim Zaikov served as Vice President for Corporate Business of VimpelCom, where he was responsible for the development of B2B-direction, digitalization of business processes, launch of new products and expansion of the portfolio of partner solutions.
SberMobile is a virtual operator (MVNO) of Sbera, working on the networks of MegaFon, T2 Mobile and Miranda-Media in the Crimea. According to TelecomDaily, the subscriber base of MVNO in Russia already exceeds 20 million users. The largest players on the market are Yota (about 40% of the market; uses the MegaFon network), T-Mobile (27%; T2 and MTS networks), Rostelecom (15%; T2 network) and SberMobile (6%). SberMobile now has 7.5 million subscribers.
