Gas prices in Europe continue to grow: on Monday, October 26, stock quotes increased by 2% and for the first time since December 21, 2022 exceeded the mark of $ 1,100 per thousand cubic meters - such dynamics are recorded by data from the London exchange ICE. It's from sb.by.

According to RIA Novosti, at the auction, November futures on the TTF index (the key gas hub of Europe in the Netherlands) started from the mark of 1101.5 dollars (an increase of 1.3%). By 9:10 Minsk time, the price rose to 1109.3 dollars, which is 2% higher than the estimated value of the previous day (1087.3 dollars per thousand cubic meters).
The rise in prices is largely due to the tense situation in the Middle East. Thus, the average exchange prices for gas for March were almost 60% higher than February and exceeded $ 600 per thousand cubic meters.
The upward trend has been observed for several months: in September, the average exchange price reached $ 897.1, which is 20% more than the August level. At the same time, quotations for the first time since December 2022 exceeded the bar of $ 1,000 per thousand cubic meters.
At the same time, the price levels observed now are noticeably inferior to the peak values of 2021-2022. The historical maximum - 3892 dollars per thousand cubic meters - was recorded in early spring 2022. At the same time, prices as consistently high as in recent months have not been recorded in Europe since 1996.
In Libya discovered a gas field with a capacity of about 1.42 million cubic meters per day
