More than 80 works were presented at the exhibition “With Love in the Heart”, dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman, at the National Art Museum, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

- There are more than 80 works created by Belarusian artists and craftsmen in various genres of fine and applied art: from folk art to academic painting. Visitors to the exhibition can enjoy paintings, graphics, sculptures by Raisa Kudrević, Valeriana Zholtok, Nineli Schachtnaya, Natalia Poplavskaya, Lyudmila Rusova, Zoya Litvinova, Elena Barkhatkova, Larisa Zhuravovich, Valentina Sidorova, Nelly Yakovenko, Valentina Mikheeva and many others. Folk art is represented by the works of Belarusian masters Larisa Los, Evdokia Barsukova, Nadezhda Pilyuk and Julia Kavrus, said Daria Karpeychik, a researcher at the National Art Museum.
The exhibition opens with a photo of the Honored Artist of the BSSR Elena Aladova. In 1921, she became one of the first students of the Belarusian State University, at that time it had just opened. From 1944 to 1977 she headed the National Art Museum (then the State Picture Gallery of the BSSR). It was under her leadership that the museum gained its modern appearance, and its funds were replenished with thousands of masterpieces of art. It is noteworthy that most of the employees of the National Art Museum are women. In the exhibition you can see their photos.

- For a long time it was difficult for women to get an education. They had to put in a lot of effort and constantly improve their skills to express themselves through art. The exposition begins with folk art: moulds and towels. Next, visitors can see the portrait of the first Belarusian tapestry, painted by artist Lenina Sivakova. Over time, women began to participate in sports. So, Valentina Mikheeva depicted a portrait of athlete Maria Itkina in sculpture. The topic of motherhood is presented separately. The statuette of mother and child, which merged into one whole, was created by the hands of craftsman Nelly Yakovenko. A unique exhibit was the icon “Christmas of the Mother of God”. In the exposition, you can trace how the illustration of children's publications has changed, as well as the continuity of generations, shared Svetlana Rzheutskaya, researcher at the exhibition.
Among the heroes of the paintings, you can recognize the original performer of folk songs Tatiana Lopatina and art critic Tatiana Bembel.

In addition to people, the authors depicted what inspired women at all times - beautiful bouquets of flowers. There is a bright “Autumn Still Life” by Svetlana Rzheutskaya, and “Bells of the Forest” by Valeriana Zholtok.
An unusual compositional solution, in which the still life and landscape become one, is presented on the canvas “Shots and Snowdrops” by modern artist Elena Barkhatkova.
- The final chord was a self-portrait of Raisa Kudrevic “In the workshop”. The heroine is depicted thoughtful, with brushes in her hands. We, in turn, tried to recreate the space where works of art are created. One of the paintings is located on the easel, around - sculpture, painting and graphics. After all, in the workshops of artists you can see a variety of creative manifestations, added S. Rzeutskaya.
Leading researcher Victoria Prokoshina also participated in the preparation of the exposition.
The exhibition runs until November 15.
